The PAP Policy Forum (PPF) Council is organising a Focus Group Discussion and Fireside Chat with Comrade Desmond Lee, Minister for Education, on “Policy Conversations: Educating Our Children for Life, and Not Just for Exams.”
As Singapore’s education landscape evolves, this session will discuss how the education system can support our children in developing the knowledge, skills and values to thrive in life, while ensuring that assessment continues to support meaningful learning. Through a focus group discussion followed by a fireside chat, participants will exchange perspectives on reducing excessive competition and the “arms race” in education, balancing academic standards with student well-being, and how assessment can continue to play a constructive role in a more holistic approach to education.
